Membership of EANS is open to all nurses* who are European nationals** with an interest in research into nursing.

There are two types of members of EANS – Scholars and Fellows.

  • Scholars are people at an early stage in their academic career who hold a doctoral degree and/or have completed the EANS Summer School over 3-years.
  • Fellows are people who have made a substantial contribution to the development of nursing in Europe through scholarship and research.

Joining EANS

  1. Read the full descriptions of membership options on the Fellows and Scholars pages
  2. Complete the relevant downloadable application form
  3. When you receive your membership letter, pay your fees using one of the methods below

DO NOT PAY ANY FEES UNTIL YOUR MEMBERSHIP HAS BEEN CONFIRMED

Fees:

  • Fellows Membership fee is 105 Euro/year (from January until December)
  • Fellows Membership fee (retired) is 53 Euro/year
  • Scholars Membership fee is 53 Euro/year
  • Members joining EANS between Jan 1 and June 30 will be charged for the current year.
  • Members joining EANS between July 1 until Dec 31 will be charged starting from next January.

 Payment can be done in 3 ways:   

  •  By Credit Card or by existing PayPal account:
    • Go to the member section of the EANS Website. This is password protected. You will have been given your password in your joining letter from the President. Please click on the PayPal button, select the right option and then follow the instructions. 
  • By International Bank transfer (when using IBAN and BIC codes, this is free of charge).
    • Please write a reference for the payment as: “your name, EANS 2012”

Your membership starts from the date you pay your fee for the first time. The web based PayPal system will set up an automatic payment schedule from this date

*nurse is used as shorthand to include the broad spectrum of professional qualifications such as nursing, mental health nursing, midwifery, health visiting, community and family nursing.
